You don’t have to be the next Bradley Wiggins, but you’ll need to know your way around a bike and be fairly fit to take part in our Challenging rides. If you’re comfortable riding with other people and fancy a fresh challenge, these rides are perfect for you. They start at around twenty miles long, and are paced at between 11 and 12 miles an hour. Are you ready for a climbing challenge ? Riding from Chester this route takes you through some quintessentially Cheshire villages into Wales and up Hope Mountain. On a clear day the views of Cheshire and Wales are fabulous. The climb up Hope Mountain is steep (greater than 1:5 in places) but it is relatively short, the descent requires caution (steep sections greater than 1:5 and loose gravel in places) but after this there's a gentle flow back towards Chester passing through Rossett with its two water mills. Make sure your gears are in good working order and be ready to use them.
