Thursday - Kevin's Social Ride to Sunderland

Starting at the Angel of the North car park, we will head through Birtley to join the cycle track to Sunderland running along the river Wear. From Sunderland we will ride up the coast to South Shields before turning inland to go through Jarrow and up towards Bowes Railway near Wrekenton.

It could be possible to meet people on the Quayside if anyone has difficulty in making their way to the Angel of the North.

This ride is approximately 40 miles and will be mostly on traffic-free cycle paths. Some surfaces will be gravelly and there will be many small ups and downs. We always stop for refreshments at roughly a half-way point.

Please note that a few riders from another group will be also joining this ride.
