To the Sea and back again (A ride from Bristol to Clevedon and back via Portishead )

Starting out from Bristol, we'll stop at the entrance to Ashton Court, (opposite the junction of Clarken Coombe and Long Ashton Road ) at 9.30am to pick anyone up who wants to start from here. Then out along the Festival Way to Nailsea, then a nice ride along the B3130 Clevedon Rd and a right turn at the end. Up and over Holly Lane and down to the sea front with an option to stop for cake. Then on through Walton in Gordano and along Nore Rd where you can take in the views of the sea whilst cycling against the wind. Then on through Portishead then onto Portbury before climbing up Failand Lane and Oxhouse lane, then a final descent down Clarken Coombe back to Ashton Court Estate. This is a social ride at the pace of the slowest person, so no-one gets left behind About you: You should bring yourself, a helmet (not compulsory ), a road worthy road bike or hybrid bike, a spare inner tube and puncture kit, suitable clothing, a water bottle, lights ( depending on the time of year). A mobile phone, money for a cake and tea or coffee stop, and lastly a sense of fun and humour..............
