A delightful route for all beginning at Rother Valley Country Park and ending with a loop of the lake after riding along the former railway line known as the Trans Pennine Trail and the Cuckoo Way canal towpath to Tapton Lock in Chesterfield. Ride along the picturesque waterways of South Yorkshire and Derbyshire.

The route is along the traffic-free bridleway and is suitable for hybrid bikes with off-road tyres, CX and gravel bikes as well as mountain bikes. Not suitable for road bikes with 28mm tyres or smaller.

Apart from a few short slopes the majority of the route is flat and smooth with a couple of roads to cross.

All riders must wear a helmet and follow the safety advice and guidance of our Guided Ride Leaders. Please bring a drink, a snack, a spare inner tube (preferably two, correctly sized for your bike), money and face mask for any refreshments you wish to buy at the café - bring some cash as not all take debit/credit cards.
