This is a reasonably challenging but very rewarding route, along quiet roads with great views of the Tweeddale hills and valleys.

The ride starts in the market town of Biggar, which works hard to retain its medieval feel. We head down Biggar High Street for a short distance before turning onto the back road to Broughton. After passing Biggar Rugby Club, we turn left and cycle down a quiet, scenic, undulating road to the far end of Broughton. We join the main road for a mile before turning left onto the much quieter back road to Peebles. After passing Stobo Castle, we turn left and head to Lyne Station.

We join the main road to Peebles for a couple of miles only before turning right to Kirkton and the Cademuir area (thereby avoiding the worst of the traffic). This is a lovely cycle along very quiet rural roads.

After arriving in Peebles, we travel up the main street for a well earned coffee (and cake) stop.

The return journey is pretty much a repeat until we arrive in Broughton, where we stay on the main road and turn left onto the road back to Biggar.

The route is primarily on quiet roads, but there are a small number of miles on busier roads - unfortunately, this is unavoidable, but is kept to an absolute minimum.
