We'll ride out East on the cycle path along river Clyde, to Glasgow Green. Then, we'll head north on roads, passing in front of Glasgow Cathedral. We'll then join the cycle path via the new Sighthill bridge. We'll then follow the towpath along the Forth and Clyde Canal Spur to the new Stockingfield Bridge, joining the Forth and Clyde Canal. At Maryhill, we'll leave the Canal to join and follow the Kelvin River, through woods and parks until reaching River Clyde again.

Route rating

0 stars (0) Reviews

This ride takes us along Glasgow's waterways: river Clyde, the Forth and Clyde canal, its spur into the city, and River Kelvin. A short, easy-going and relaxing tour near water.

We'll ride mostly on cycle paths and canal towpaths. There are also some short sections on open road.

As this is a short ride, there will be no cafe stops, however we'll take short breaks as needed.

You will need a bike in full working order. The city bike hire is also suitable. A helmet is recommended. Bring something to drink and some snacks for the breaks. Evening ride: please bring fully-charged front and rear lights.

First-timers welcome!
