Tour to the Tower

Starting at the Farm Shop, we are going to head out for the day into the Cotswold countryside. Following the familiar route out through Fifield and the Westcotes, we will then head out towards The Drainpipe - this is an amazing downhill (to be tackled with care)! From there, we will wind our way along quiet country roads through the pretty villages of the Slaughters. Just as we start to relax, we get the "fun" of a short sharp hill that will get our lungs and legs working hard, before it settles back into rolling roads as we head out past Cotswold Farm Park. From here it is a nice straight steady road for several miles as we get closer to the Tower. However, cake has to be earned, so it is one last climb before we reach our destination - all worth it for the incredible view you get over several counties. After a good café stop, we will then set off again, coasting down some nice downhill sections on quiet lanes before we test our legs again on a short but steep climb up towards the main road. Next we head towards Moreton-in-Marsh along a short section of the busier A44 - but it is mostly downhill & very safe in single file. Soon we turn off and cycle past Sezincote gardens, with more magnificent views across the valley. After a pleasant downhill towards Stow, we will turn off to Donnington, then Broadwell - do we risk the ford?! It is then all meandering quiet roads back to Oddington, then Daylesford, Kingham and home via our usual route.
ALTHOUGH THIS IS A LONG ROUTE WITH A FEW CHALLENGING HILLS, THE PACE WILL BE VERY STEADY & THE MOOD SOCIABLE.
