Castleton to Todmorden and back practically all the way by Canal towpath

The route is mostly packed gravel there are cobbles and at times we are likely to ride over running water. Some tracks can be muddy, so mountain bikes or hybrid bikes with off road tyres are essential.

A refreshment stop will be taken at the Kava cafe in Todmorden. So bring some money with you and also bring a drink for along the way.

Helmets are strongly recommend. Bikes must be in good working order and you should bring at least one spare inner tube that will fit your wheel and a puncture repair kit along with basic tools to carry out minor repairs.
