A scenic off road route through some lovely countryside with 2 planned coffee stops - Hardwick Hall & Chesterfield retail park.
There are alot of gravel trails on this route to try to avoid any major stretches of mud but inevitably at this time of year there WILL be some mud to negotiate.

This is a cross country route from Poolsbrook Park to Pleasley, Hardwick Hall, Tibshelf, Grassmoor, canal back to Staveley. It uses alot of the Phoenix Greenway Trails to keep the mud to a minimum

Plenty of gravel trails inc - Stockley trail, Skegby trail, Rawthorne trail, Teversal trail, Silverhill trail, The 5 Pits Trail, Holmewood Loop trail, the new trails across the recelamation lands nr Wingerworth, and the Chesterfield canal tow path back to Staveley.

First coffee stop at Hatdwick Hall visitor centre after 16miles, and second coffee stop at Chesterfield (choice of 3) after 31 miles from start.

Always wear a helmet and suitable riding gear for the conditions. Carry some water and snack, bring cash & card for the cafe's, and ALWAYS have the means to REPAIR a PUNCTURE if you get a flat ! Your bike should have a bell to warn other trail users of our approach, and when its wet weather Mudguards should be fitted to prevent spraying other riders.

You are very welcome to join us, we HOPE YOU DO, but here’s a few things to consider first - Our routes are designed for pedal power bikes, we don’t consider eBikes and their weight when planning these routes. We will encounter some loose gravel, stones and dirt on the trails and there will be overgrown vegetation too, so you'll need to be able to cope with these things. At various points on our routes we will need to negotiate a swing gate or two, some 'A' Frames and maybe a stile, so you'll need to be able to lift your bike onto its back wheel to manoeuvre it through these obstacles, and maybe even lift it over a stile. It is definitely not a race, but we do usually average around 10mph on these cross country rides so you'll need to be fairly fit. If these things sound fine to you and they don't put you off you are very welcome to join us. We look forward to meeting you
