This Melrose Breeze ride is open for anyone to join

Free, women-only bike rides led by experienced Breeze Champions. They are a great way to get started in cycling or to improve your skills, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist.

Heading out along the black path towards Gala, we join Winston Road and cycle down to Netherdale, then follow the road up hill to join Abbotsford Road proceed towards town, turning left at the mini roundabout, and left onto Elm Row. We will then skirt Gala hill, and follow the road to join the Rink. From there we continue through to Caddonfoot, and then cross the Tweed to Peel. We follow the road all the way to Innerleithen, where we will stop for Refreshments. Then we will take the cycle path to Walkerburn, where we will rejoin the back road back to Peel, Caddonfoot, etc, and return via Boleside to Tweedbank. 35 miles with 1700 feet of climbing.

Cycle to Innerleithen from Tweedbank, skirting Gala Hill, joining the Rink to continue along quite country lanes, and cycle lanes. Refreshments in Innerleithen and then back to Tweedbank, via country lanes, and Boleside.

Some traffic through Gala on approach to Gala Hill, then quite country roads. Some of the ride is along traffic free routes.

Stops as needed to regroup, for photos, etc. cafe stop in Innerleithen.

Helmets mandatory, please dress for weather, bring tools, and a spare inner tube for your bike. A drink, and snacks to sustain you as needed.
