This is a challenging but very rewarding route, along quiet roads with great views of the hills and valleys. It includes the iconic Talla climb.

The ride starts in the Broughton. We head out on the A701 to Tweedsmuir where we turn onto the quieter road alongside Talla reservoir. This is a beautiful and idyllic part of the route and gives a great view of the challenging climb up Talla. The climb reaches 20% in places - so, pushing on foot may be an option!

We then head down past Megget reservoir and join the A708 to head to Traquair. We turn left here to head through Cardrona and into Peebles.

After arriving in Peebles, we travel up the main street for a well earned toastie/roll, coffee (and cake) stop at the East Gate theatre.

We then head back to the start along the quiet roads past Stobo.

The route is primarily on quieter roads, but there are a small number of miles on busier roads - unfortunately, this is unavoidable, but is kept to an absolute minimum.

The Ride Leader will provide ample warning and instruction on how to negotiate any junctions.
