Leaving Selkirk we head out on the main road past the rugby club along through Yarrowford. We turn off at the Gordon Arms to head up Berrybush which is a long slow ascent. Once we descend we take right and head to our cafe stop. On return we head down the Ettrick Valley turning up over Witchie Knowe before reaching Ettrick Bridge. This is a more challenging ascent so save some snacks to refuel before we start the climb. Home via Bowhill Estate.

Taking the Yarrow Valley we cross Berrybush to the Ettrick Valley and a cafe stop at Honey Cottage Beehive Cafe. Return via Witchie Knowe and back to Selkirk through Bowhill.

Some A roads along both Yarrow and Ettrick Valleys but we will detour to avoid where possible. This ride is all about the climbs and the views!

Stopping at Beehive Cafe and also along the way for drinks, snacks and photos.

Helmets essential for this ride. Come prepared with layers and waterproofs, weather is unpredictable here in April. Bring snacks and plenty to drink, it’s challenging and you will need them. Make sure your bike is fit for purpose and if it’s an e-bike fully charged as you’ll not be laughing if it conks out on the way home! Please bring a spare inner tube and tools or have someone on hand to pick you up if it’s necessary.

We never leave anyone behind
