This is a challenging ride with plenty of hills, but don't let that put you off. We will tackle the undulations at our own pace and take a rest when needed. We are mainly on quiet lanes but there will be some group riding on the main (fairly quiet) road out of Bishops Waltham as well as the road to Twyford at the start. Therefore this ride is suited to those who cycle regularly and have some experience.
Leaving Winchester and heading out along the cycle path towards Twyford, up to Owslebury, down to Baybridge, up to Upham and down to Bishops Waltham. Cycling through Swanmore and up & down the country lanes to Droxford where we will stop at Wilfrid's for refreshments. Our ride back has plenty more ups and downs as we head back towards Owslebury, to pedal through Ovington, Avington and Easton.
You will need
a roadworthy bike & helmet
Kit to fix a punture (inner tube, tyre levers and pump)
Water
Suitable clothing for weather conditions. Would advise an extra layer as we may choose to sit outside (as a church the inside isn't much warmer apparently)
Mudguards if the weather is wet
Front light is advised for your own visibility as the lanes can be shadowed
Cash / payment card for cafe stop
A snack
If you book a place but cannot come on the ride, please remember to cancel so that someone else can join us
