Next to Costa, 1-2 The Old Pottery, Verwood, Dorset BH31 6HF. Parking is free and public toilets are available.

Starting at Costa in Verwood we will ride out of Verwood passing the Heavy Horse Centre on our way to Cripplestyle, turning right we will take the Cranborne to Fordingbridge road to Alderholt then towards Fordingbridge. Prior to reaching Fordingbridge we will turn right into Lomer Lane towards Midgeham and the pretty hamlet of Harbridge, with its pre 15th century church, passing through Somerley Estate then crossing the flood plain and River Avon.
Carefully crossing the Ringwood to Salisbury road at Ibseley, Old Beams Inn, we will turn into Mockbeggar lane by the old chapel heading for Mockbeggar entering the New Forest National Park.
From Mockbeggar we will ride tranquil countryside skirting the edge Mockbeggar Lakes and then heading towards Moyles Court and Dockens Water ford.
Heading right at the ford taking Highwood Lane we will pass the Alice Lyle Inn, Dame Alice was sentenced by the infamous, Judge Jefferies, and beheaded in 1685 for harbouring John Hickes, a fugitive minister after the Monmouth Rebellion, then on to Poulner passing Lakes and Water Parks.

At Ringwood we will stop for a cuppa and a well-deserved cake before reversing the route and cruising back to Verwood.

We will ride mostly on very quiet country lanes, with exception of a short ride on a couple busy roads where we will stay together. There a few hills between Verwood and Fordingbridge with the ride flattening out from Midgeham to Ringwood, these are not big hills and easily ridden up.

No special clothing required although something bright is best, be seen be safe, helmets are strongly advised and remember to bring a water bottle with you and waterproofs if the weather is inclement.

PLEASE ENSURE YOUR BICYCLE IS ROADWORTHY.
