Starting point

Tyne and Wear
NE27 0QJ

The ride is mainly on the Waggonway network with some road riding so participants need to be confident sharing the road with traffic.

The route takes in elements of NCN routes 1, 10 and 72 and has countryside, coastal and riverside views and we'll stop for a tea/coffee on route.

Owing to limited spaces available this ride is limited to adults only.

Route rating

5 stars (1) Reviews

A ride around North Tyneside and into South Northumberland before heading back along the coast and river.

A lot of the route is on wide, clear Waggonways, some quite roads and shared footpaths. The sea front can be busy but if it is traffic is slow moving.

There are a few options for stops on the way and these will be agreed before the ride.

Helmets are advisable and riders should bring tools, puncture repair kits, drinks and warm clothing as the coast can be a bit cooler than other sections of route.

First-timers welcome!
