Starting point

Hertfordshire

Leaving at 9am from Watford Cycle Hub, this ride will be paced to average 12+ mph over the Challenging Route so this ride is for riders who can comfortably maintain this kind of average over a hilly course.

We will head out through Loudwater and Sarratt, enjoy the descent down Bulstrode Lane before climbing back towards Felden. Here there's a 10% descent on Felden Lane we will be revisiting as a 10% climb en route back!

We will ride past the Water Gardens at Hemel Hempstead and pass through the Old Town, continuing down Piccotts End before the climb to earn your cake or toastie up Dodds Lane!

On reaching the Dacourm Cycle Hub, there will be a welcome selection of cakes and their excellent sausage rolls! They'll also be sandwiches and toasties, all on Debbie's home made bread. :)

We will then return to take on that 10% climb, though there is the catching the train back to Watford Junction option from Hemel Station should you find your legs have done their share of climbing for the day...

We will pass through Chipperfield and enjoy the Bucks Hill descent en route back to Croxley Green and Watford Cycle Hub.

We will arrive back in time to take part in the Watford Cycle Hub Children in Need Event, should you be happy to do a few warm down laps to raise money for a good cause, or to meet your family for an afternoon of traffic-free cycling round the playing fields to help reach the target of 500 miles cycled as a group in total, equalling the distance of the Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge! :)
