Watford Cycle Hub: Picnic At The Secret Garden

A gentle ride using cycle paths & quiet roads on the Cassiobury Estate & through Nascot Wood to the Secret Garden for a picnic! : ) This is a brilliant ride for anyone looking to:

- gain confidence riding their bike on mainly quiet roads,
- learn about some of the local cycle routes,
& find a lovely little-known place to retreat too - one of Watford's hidden gems that you'll want to return too. :)

Having a drink, a chat and something lovely to eat is a cornerstone of our social rides and part of the joy of cycling together on a Sunday! :) We will stop at Cheslyn Gardens for you to enjoy the drinks & snacks you have brought with you, before heading back to Cassiobury Park.

New riders are always welcome and for this route, children aged 8 and over are warmly welcome too - provided a caring, supportive adult is riding alongside them. :)

Please bring a spare inner tube in case of a puncture - as changing an inner tube is faster than getting out the rubber glue. The Ride Leaders will happily help if anyone in the group has a puncture on the day. Watford Cycle Hub sell inner tubes from £4 new, or recycled ones for 50p patched, £1 with no patches, should you need to purchase one.

Please check your bike is in good working order before the ride - especially that your brakes are working & your tyres are pumped.

If your bike might need a little more TLC or hasn't been ridden for a while, you can always bring it in for a free assessment; we're a Not-For-Profit, Community Enterprise and promise to give you an honest price if your bike needs fixing, fine tuning or a full service. :)
