Horseshoe Lake Activity Centre, Mill Lane, Sandhurst

Join us on this lovely ride out into the Hampshire countryside to visit West Green House. We will be meeting at the Horseshoe Lake Activity Centre where we will pedal out through Yateley and Eversley and onto West Green. The ride is fairly flat and we will be going at a fairly quick pace along the main roads, slipping into a more relaxed pace once we hit the quieter lanes. On this occassion we will be stopping at West Green House to visit the gardens and then have an afternoon tea....all very civilised! We will need to book the afternoon tea in advance, so please book early! The cost of the afternoon tea and entry to the gardens is £25, which applies even to those who are National Trust members. You may wish to bring a dress or something to slip over your cycling gear if you feel self conscious in lycra shorts (if you wear them) plus it may be more pleasant for strolling around gardens....particularly if we are blessed with the weather! I have been advised that we will probably need an hour to look around the gardens and at least an hour for the afternoon tea...sum total of 4 hours out.  If you have any questions regarding the booking of the afternoon tea please email me at: [email protected] and I will try my best to answer your questions. I will also try and come up with a plan B...just in case! It would be advisable to bring the following with you: * Waterproof Jacket * Jumper or fleece so you won't get cold when we stop * A helmet * A puncture repair kit or, even better, spare inner tubes for your bike * A bike lock There is free car parking available at Horseshoe Lake, but it can sometimes be busy so it may be worthwhile turning up early just in case. The likelihood is that I will be there at least 15 minutes before the start time so you won't be there alone! There is a coffee shop at Horseshoe Lake Activity Centre...so you could grab a cuppa before we leave!
