This ride is for those of us new to riding trails, looking to ease ourselves back into cycling after an extended break or just looking for a social ride with others at a gentle pace.
There is a 'no drop' policy, everyone on ride stays together as a group and encourages those who may need a little extra help.
There is nothing technical along this route and no specific skills are needed in order to take part and enjoy this ride. Suitable for mountain bikes, gravel bikes or hybrids with off-road tyres as long as in good working order, we also welcome electric bikes but they must conform to BS safety standards.
The entire route is made up of unpaved surfaces, varying from dirt trail to fire road, tracks and is completely traffic free, we may have to cross a main road along the route.
PLEASE NOTE: Helmets are a requirement on these rides to ensure everyone's safety and that we're all covered by the British Cycling Insurance in the very unlikely event of an incident.
I also ask that your bike is in a roadworthy condition before arriving, bring with you a spare inner-tube, pump (or CO2 canisters) and tyre levers. Please have appropriate clothing for the conditions and activity and I recommend to bring a drink along too.
At the end of the ride you are welcome to join me at 'Grounds Cafe' for refreshments at West Stow Country Park (
