Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 6LA

This ride leaves from the Flask End cafe in Low Bradfield at 10am (come early if you'd like a coffee first, some of us will be there from about 9:30am). We head out of Low Bradfield up Blindside Lane and Sugworth Road to the A57, where we drop down to Ladybower. We pass the Yorkshire Bridge Inn and then turn right onto a lovely lane that takes us through Thornhill before rejoining the cycle lane along the main road. We turn left to head through Bradwell and then right up onto a pretty, winding lane through Coplow Dale and onwards to Great Hucklow. From there we climb steadily, accompanied by spectacular views, over a hill and drop down to Grindleford. There is then another long steady climb up Nether Padley and onwards to Ringinglow before we drop down Lodge Lane. We then cross Rivelin Valley Road (there is an option here to turn right and take an easy route back to Malin Bridge) and climb steeply up to Stannington and Dungworth before we drop back down to Low Bradfield and coffee/cake/sausage sandwiches at the Flask End. Although there are options to stop along the way, we'll try to do this ride at an easy pace as one group without major stops and enjoy the refreshments at the start and end. However, if we want to stop we will and there is no question of anyone getting left behind! There is an easy ride doing a couple of laps around the Dam starting from the Flask End at 8:30am and finishing with a coffee at 9:30am, so you're more than welcome to do both rides if you like!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.

You are free to choose to ride with us but in doing so please note that you do so in acceptance that this is entirely at your own risk.
