Starting point

South Yorkshire
S6 4TE

This ride takes us from Loxley Road and up through High Bradfield and then left onto Mortimer Road. After a few miles and a couple of short, sharp climbs we pass the Strines Inn and then drop down to Ladybower. After a left turn at the traffic lights we pass the Yorkshire Bridge Inn and then take another left and begin a long (and occasionally steep) climb up a quiet lane with spectacular views over the Peak District countryside. After passing along the foot of Stannage Edge we carry on to Upper Burbage and Ringinglow before turning left and heading to Lodge Moor. From there we drop down Lodge Lane to Rivelin Valley and return to the start point.
Although there are a some quite long and occasionally steep climbs in this ride, we'll take our time and stop for breathers if we need to. No-one will get left behind!
IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS
We recommend that all participants wear a helmet. Please make sure you wear appropriate clothing for the weather.
As usual we do expect you to have ensured your bike is roadworthy and that you have carried out basic pre-ride checks; we recommend that you also carry at least one spare inner tube, a pump (CO2 inflators are also highly recommended). It is also a good idea to carry a spare chain link that matches your bike’s chain (e.g. 9, 10 or 11 speed). If you have a mechanical problem we will do our best to assist you and/or lend you an inner tube or repair kit if we can, but it is always best to be self-reliant. Don’t forget to bring money for refreshments and a mobile phone.
