We'll head northwards to the fenland around Lode, Reach and the Swaffhams, including a section on National Cycle Route 11 (part of the Lodes Way). It's not too challenging overall, but we'll be aiming for a brisk-ish pace to keep us warm!

The route is mainly on quiet roads (crossing over a couple of busier ones). For a very short distance north-east of Lode we'll be on an off-road track, but nothing that a road bike can't handle (I'll be on mine).

There'll be a stop at 25 miles to check out Lexi's Cafe in Bottisham (new and well-reviewed, with places for bikes viewable from the cafe).

As usual, bring cycle repair equipment appropriate for your bike, and payment for the coffee stop. A helmet is essential, and good bike lights are strongly advised. And obviously ... dress to be seen and to stay warm and dry.

If you're 'new', please make sure your contact details are on the Let's Ride system (i.e. a mobile number, and ideally email if you'll be wanting the route gpx nearer the time). We'll make sure nobody gets left behind, but at this time of year it's useful if we can aim for 12-13mph average so we stay warm!
