From The Leggers Inn we will travel up to Ossett on the greenway and then head to Horbury for a circuit of Carr Lodge Park.
After Horbury Bridge we will join Low Lane to Smithy Brook and then head up to what was the Woolpack Inn at Whitley.
We will then drop down through Dewsbury Golf Course before taking in a tour of Crow Nest Park on the way back to The Leggers Inn.
Please be aware there are a few hills along the way however nobody will be left behind.

This Sunday’s ride will leave The Leggers Inn and take in the villages of Horbury, Thornhill & Whitley before dropping down through Dewsbury Golf Club to Crown Nest Park. It is a very pleasant ride but there are hills along the way so please do not underestimate it. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS RIDE IS OPEN TO ADULTS, 18+ ONLY. The Met Office forecast for 10:00 Sunday is currently suggesting white cloud, a temperature of 8°C and winds gusting to 22 mph. Please check the forecast for yourself on Sunday morning. Please be aware that this is not a guided ride and that each participant remains responsible for their own actions or omissions at all times.

For the majority of the ride we will travelling along tarmac roads but the track from Whitley which goes down through the golf course is uneven in places. We will encounter a reasonable amount of traffic on the roads so all riders will need to be fully confident in those situations. Mountain bikes, hybrids and gravel bikes are most suited to this ride.

With the exception of short stops to re-group, or to take in points of interest along the route, there are no scheduled breaks on this ride. We may call for coffee at the Starbucks at Saville Town on the way back to the Leggers Inn

Helmets are mandatory on all Heavy Woollen Wheelers rides. Please bring a spare inner tube suitable for the tyres on the bike you are riding.

We never leave anyone behind
