If you would like to join a gentle, leisurely paced guided ride from Workington to Whitehaven to celebrate World Mental Health Day, why not book & come along?
This ride is especially designed for nervous cyclists wishing to gain more confidence on two wheels.
This is to include new E-Bike riders with as always, a fully charged battery.
A 90% traffic free cycle path ride, the 10% on road parts are very quiet back roads to connect the traffic free sections of our route.
We will be finishing our ride with a visit to Costa Coffee for hot drinks on our return to Workington.

You will need to bring with you a road worthy bike, your helmet, clothes you are comfortable cycling in, (easy to add & remove layers work the best), a waterproof jacket, as the weather can change quite quickly, a drink for along the way if needed, also some money or bank card for our café stop at the end of our ride.
All participants on a British cycling ride are now required to provide all their own cycling repair equipment to comply with self-sufficiency rules.
So, you will need to make sure you are as self-sufficient as possible on the ride, to avoid sharing tools if any repairs are needed to your bike while on the move.
You will need to bring with you & carry your own repair kit containing these spares as well as know how to use them. (Advice can be given)
A spare complete inner tube that fits your bike, a set of tyre levers and a hand pump are the minimum required.

A working Bike Bell is also a priority for this ride due to increased Dog walking activity along the route.

If traveling by car free parking is available at the rail station car park.

Can everyone joining the ride also be Covid considerate towards their fellow riders, please do not attend if you have any Covid symptoms, have someone in your household who does or if you have tested positive on a recent Covid test. Cancelling your place is never a problem, just let us know on the website before the ride so that we are not waiting for you unnecessarily, especially when it's cold or raining.

This ride is led by an experienced British Cycling trained coach, so if you have any questions, need any advice or help starting or getting back into that saddle for this ride just message the ride leader on the riders' tab below.
