York to Selby on the Solar System

Join us for a pootle down the solar system greenway (old London to Edinburgh line) and a tour of York centre, including York Minster, Clifford's Tower, York Castle Museum, Rowntree Park, The Residence at the Chocolate Works, Knavesmire (York Racecourse) Naburn Bridge aka Fisherman's Bridge and Selby Abbey

Leaving the station we head over Scarborough Rail Bridge and make our way into the city centre, weaving our way to the path along the river, eventually popping out on Bishopthorpe road to pick up the path that runs alongside the race course, then over, there is a music event on (starts at 4) if its very busy we can circumnavigate it. The greenway takes us to the village of Riccall where we will stop for our lunch break, the choice of take out or eat in is upto individuals

Leaving the village we pick up the path that runs alongside A19, (1mile) before joining York road into the village of Barlby and onto Selby for our final destination, Selby Abbey and return to the train station
