Battersea Park
A pleasant, gentle 5 mile family route on traffic-free tarmac park paths, exploring the historic Battersea Park. The 200 acre park is situated in Wandsworth and since being reclaimed from marshland has been a market garden, feeding London's burgeoning population, the scene of a comical duel between the Duke of Wellington and the Earl of Winchilsea in 1829 and the site for the world's first football match played under FA rules, back in 1864.
