The Hub, Buckshaw Village

This figure of eight route starts at the Hub in Buckshaw Village (cafe) and incorporates two loops.  The first loop uses quiet roads and a short offroad section of cycle path to explore the newly developed Buckshaw Village that was once a Royal Ordanance site.  After a road section there is a short offroad climb to a viewpoint with beautiful 360 degree views.  The route then uses well maintained cycle paths to get to Astley Park in Chorley and view Astley Hall, Lake and Gardens.  Here there is an option to stop at the cafe or continue through the park to return to Buckshaw Village via quiet suburban roads and cycle paths.  This route will be suitable for most types of bikes but not skinny tyred road bikes.
