Stretching for 87 miles, the Kennet & Avon Canal is described as one of the most picturesque parts of the inland waterways. Running from Reading to Bristol, the canal was completed in 1810 following 16 years of construction.  Starting at the Canal Visitor Centre, which is located at the Brassknocker Basin, you will head off for a gentle ride along the towpath from Dundas Aqueduct, across the Avoncliff Aqueduct and on to the town of Bradford on Avon where you can stop to explore the 14th-century Grade II listed Tithe Barn. You can view the artworks at the workshops and galleries and enjoy a refreshing break at the 'All Things Nice' tea shop before returning. As you ride, take the opportunity to view the wonderful range of plant and wildlife along the vibrant and beautiful landscape that have taken on this legacy from a foregone industrial age.
