Bargate

If you love sea views (and who doesn't?) you'll love this 25 mile Southampton shoreline route. From historic Bargate, via Weston Shore and Country Park, you can catch the 'pink ferry' across the Hamble estuary to the nature reserve at Titchfield Haven. There's plenty to keep you amused along the way, including the Norman gateway to medieval town (Bargate), the Itchen Bridge, the Chapel in Royal Victoria Country Park, the ancient maritime village of Hamble and its ferry, plus of course Titchfield Haven nature reserve itself. There are three possible refuelling points along the route, with a cafe in the country park, the beach cafe at Hamble and also a cafe at Titchfield Haven. The route uses a combination of traffic-free paths and suburban roads.
