Hawkshead village

This is a challenging, but very scenic, route starting and finishing in Hawkshead village, in the south of the Lake District National Park. The route takes in two significant climbs, the first near the start, over Hawkshead Hill, the second towards the end, up to the aptly named Moor Top in Grizedale Forest Park. The route offers stunning views just about all the way round, but particularly as it descends towards and skirts the eastern shore of Lake Coniston.
