Welcome to the Lister Park - Spen Valley Greenway SkyRide. Much of this ride is along Cycling Route 66, but a long way from Chicago.  It visits 2 Bradford parks, the Lister & Bowling, both worth your viewing.   The 1st ride section is downhill to Canal Road to get you in the mode. The flat part is along Canal & Valley Roads, mainly quiet, into Bradford City centre at Centenary Square.  Good use of your bike gears will be required on the next part. The next section rises out of the city on quiet roads, cycle paths & scenic Bowling Park to arrive adjacent to Asda at Bierley Top.  The ride & Route 66 continues on a quiet road through Bierley, passing its Park, under the M606 before entering onto the Spen Valey Greenway. The latter is a tarmaced old railway route. it provides you with many different views on each side. A test of location recognition is yours & Free.  The route reaches its turn-point adjacent to Cleckheaton Tesco, ideal for a refreshnment stop.   The return route is mainly back along the outbound ride. This definitely provides a series of spectacular views at various points.
