Slaithwaite

This great route from the village of Slaithwaite, heads along the historic Huddersfield Narrow Canal. This route is seeping in history with the legendary tale of the smugglers who were caught 'raking for the moon'.  There is more old tales to keep you entertained on this route as it heads along the towpath through fields and woodlands, crossing quiet roads on a virtually traffic free route. Enjoy seeing lots of farms and wildlife along the way. The industrial history of the area can also be seen in the many mills the route will pass.  Suitable for riders both young and old, the route is along the canal towpath, so is as flat as it can be!
