View Tube

This is a pleasant and relaxing route from the View Tube Café (toilets and bike hire available) making use of the towpaths and cycle paths of East London. At the start of the route you can enjoy spectacular views of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park from the sightseeing platform from which you will see the 2012 Games Stadium, the Acceleror Orbital Tower, the London Aquatics Centre and in the distance the Lee Valley VeloPark with its iconic Velodrome. The route makes use of the towpaths along the Hertford Union and Regents Canal and along the route you'll pay a visit to  Victoria Park, one of the oldest parks in London, before looping back round to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Please note that although this ride is suitable for all bike types we recommend using a mountain bike or a hybrid bike with wide tyres.

This route has been British Cycling assessed as an accessible route, meaning it is suitable for the majority of adaptive bikes. The route will have no or low levels of traffic, there will be plenty of space and will have a good surface throughout (please note that the route does contain some small sections of cobbles and a couple of descents down to canal towpaths). If you have any questions about using this route on an adaptive bike on this ride, drop us an email at [email protected] or call 0161 274 2000 and ask for the Sky Ride Local Team.
