Clitheroe

Explore the villages of the Ribble Valley.

Starting in the market town of Clitheroe you’ll climb up and across the A59 heading towards the Nick of Pendle, fortunately you turn off (before it gets too steep) and visit the villages of Pendleton, Wiswell, Whalley and Billington before enjoying a nice flat section to Ribchester via Old Langho.

Then you’ll gradually climb up to the Longridge reservoirs before navigating the undulating road through the villages to the West of Clitheroe.

You can stop for a well-deserved rest at Bashall Barn before heading to West Bradford and then Chatburn, on route back to Clitheroe.

There are no epic climbs but the route is constantly undulating and has over 1500 feet of climbing, so you will need to be prepared and ready for this ride.
