Car Park, St Albans Abbey Station, Holywell Hill AL1 2DN (not St Albans City station)

This route starts on the new cycle routes through Verulamium Park and uphill past the Roman Wall. The route then follows the National Cycle Network route 6/61 into Bricket Wood and onto a lovely bridleway along the Colne Valley before returning back on to the roads for a while to go uphill to Shenley.  You'll then be given some stunning views of the Vale of St Albans before we arrive and stop at the tea room at Shenley Park.  After tea break the ride travels along the Shenley ridge and then down to another bridleway which takes us past Salisbury Hall, the DeHavill and Mosquito Aircraft Museum and the Arsenal FC training ground. Then by the Broad Colney lakes and nature reserve before picking up the road again for a short while before finding the surfaced cycle track through the Napsbury Park estate. Finally the route will be back on narrow roads, with views of St Albans Abbey, to return to the Abbey Station.
