Blackpool Promenade

This 25 mile route gives riders the opportunity to explore Blackpool, the Fylde coast and Wyre Valley on a circular route taking in some fascinating sights. The route starts on Blackpool's breezy promenade and heads up towards Cleveleys, where it quits the coast and heads towards Thornton. From Thornton, you'll pass Poulton-le-Fylde, crossing the River Wyre and heading onto a back-road loop near Hambleton. Route highlights include the offshore windfarm, the North Pier, the majestic Norbreck Castle Hotel, the newly developed  promenade, the heritage shopping experience at Marsh Mill, Stanah Country Park and the boatyard of the evocatively titled Skippool Creek. This rolling route follows the traffic-free promenade, suburban streets and country lanes and is suitable for road bikes.  Please don't forget to take 20p per person to cross the toll bridge!
