Travel through quite country lanes to the village of Hale, where you can discover the birthplace of John Middleton known locally as the Childe of Hale. It is said that at 9 feet 3 inchers he was so tall that he had to sleep with his feet out of the bedroom windows. After visiting his home you pass the 14th Century church of St. Mary's where he is buried before you arrive at the Lighthouse, after which you travel back to Halewood on quite country lanes.
