Town and Country Loop

This ride will take you away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre and shortly after leaving the Tees Barrage the countryside will open up via sedate and tranquil lanes. There is a short stop just outside Thorpe Thewles so feel free to bring along a mini picnic on your ride. The ride will then return to Stockton via cycle paths and quiet roads before it drops down onto the riverside where you will cross the River Tees via the impressive Infinity Bridge and then back across via the equally impressive Tees Barrage.

Please note a section of this route, on NCN1, between Thorpe Thewles and Harrowgate Lane consists of dirt/gravel track and farm track, in dry weather it is 'passable' on a road bike but after any sort of wet weather it would not be possible to complete this section satisfactorily on a road bike.
