From our starting point from the Wellington, St James Road, Prescot we head out towards Penketh where we will pick up the Sankey Valley Trail and then on through Warrington and Latchford picking up the Transpennine Route then via Stockton Heath along the Manchester Ship Canal to Lymm Village. The return will be back on the Transpennine Trail via the beautiful village of Thelwall.

A 'there and back' ride to leafy Lymm via the Sankey Valley and Transpennine Trails and return via Thelwall village.

Mostly on main roads and the hard surfaced cycle paths of the Sankey Valley and Transpennine Trails. A portion of the route will be on unmade but well compacted cycleways which at this time of year provide a reasonable cycling surface.

There will be refreshment stop when we reach Lymm Village after about 16 miles. We can make our mind up on the day but can use either 'Sextons of Lymm' Bakery, Deli and Ice Cream Parlour or the Golden Fleece so remember to bring along some money for a coffee and some of their lovely home-made cakes and pastries or an ice cream. .

All riders will be required to wear a helmet and carry spare inner tubes and the means to be able to repair a puncture (assistance will be provided if required). Make sure that you also carry sun cream and plenty of fluids as it is likely to be very warm.

It is essential that everybody enjoys the ride so it will be at our usual group average pace of 9-11mph but will be determined by the overall pace of the group. Always remember, we will never leave anyone behind! There will be several photo opportunities en-route which may affect the overall pace of the ride.
