A circular route departing Tockholes and heading to Abbey Village, Brinscall and Withnell. We will then head towards Horwich via Cowling, Limbrick and Grimeford. The main ascent of the day starts at the foot of Chorley Old Road where part way up (after 16 miles) we will take our cafe stop at Curleys. Following this we will then head towards Smithies via Matchmoor Lane and return to Tockholes via Belmont.
This is a challenging route of 26 miles with just under 2000 feet of climbing and is best suited to road bikes. Mostly B roads and country lanes with some A roads.

Helmets must be worn. Please be equipped to perform any roadside repairs you may require.
Given the time of year please wear suitable clothing and be aware of the prevailing weather forecast.
