SW11 6EJ

Wandsworth Common, Bolingbroke Grove, Wandsworth London SW11 6EJ We will meet on Wandsworth Common at the top of Broomwood Road, just by the traffic lights.

This is one of our series of slightly longer rides, for women who would like to go a bit further (and a little bit faster) than on our regular 10 milers. The ride will take us through the middle of Richmond Park, past the Ballet School and lovely views towards the pen Ponds. We will leave the Park by Ham Gate and cross the Thames at pretty Teddington Lock, before wiggling through some residential streets to the Crane Park. Crane Park once upon a time was the site of a large gunpowder factory and we will go past the Shot Tower - an 18th century building with an alarm bell in case fire was spotted at the factory! On the way back we will cycle through the lovely Bushy Park, before crossing the Thames again and heading back to Wandsworth Common. This ride will be around 30 miles. We will stop for coffee and optional sandwich/cake in Teddington (bring a bike lock) around 12 pm, but please ensure you also bring your water and some snacks to fuel you through the morning. We should be back by 2 pm. Please also bring a spare inner tube to fit your bicycle and a pump, along with appropriate clothing for the weather on the day. The ride is mostly on roads or Tarmac paths but with a few short sections on non-paved paths - if you bring a road bike, you may prefer to walk these sections.
