Starting point

London
NW10 3SH

A touristy ride to visit the new area of Nine Elms where the new Battersea Power Station, US Embassy building and Sky Pool are. This ride is suitable for those who would like to try slightly busier junctions to build their confidence in normal traffic (although the majority of the route is through quiet roads).

We set off via Kensington Gardens and South Kensington until we cross Albert Bridge which takes us to the North Carriage Drive at Battersea Park. We cross the park to the East side where we soon find ourselves at Battersea Power Station going along the river. We stop here for a little while to enjoy the views and the shops.

We carry on a little ahead to our coffee break at the cute Black Cab Coffee Co, and then to Embassy Gardens to view the new US Embassy, as well as the suspended glass swimming pool, Sky Pool. We make our way back via Vauxhall Bridge, Pimlico and Knightsbridge to Hyde Park, and Maida Vale until Roundwood Park.

Helmets aren't compulsory but highly advisable. Please wear a mask if entering a busy indoor space like a toilet or coffee shop, unless you are exempt. Also bring a lock so we can stop at the café.

Places are limited and sometimes get booked up with a waiting list. If you develop Covid-19 symptoms or have been told to self-isolate before the ride, or can't make it for any other reason, please cancel your space so someone else can join.

Unless the weather takes a nasty turn making it unsafe or unpleasant to cycle, this ride will go ahead even if it rains. Dress for the weather and bring a rain coat just in case.
