Don’t forget! This is a mountain bike ride, so may involve terrain that’s a bit trickier to negotiate. Please consider your own ability to ride the length, elevation and terrain of the ride as detailed in the ride description. If in any doubt, message the Breeze Champion.

Free, women-only bike rides led by experienced Breeze Champions. They are a great way to get started in cycling or to improve your skills, whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist.

We will meet at the front of the Discovery Centre beside the Swinley Bike Hub initially. Swinley Bike Hub, The Look Out Discovery Centre, Nine Mile Ride, Bracknell, Berkshire, RG12 7QW. Car parking is on site but gets VERY busy at weekends. Come early (aim for 0930) to get parked and organised and consider car share if driving.

Meet Breeze Champions Ruth Miller and Jennifer Purcell at the Swinley Bike Hub at 0945 for quick introductions and chat in advance of a 10am general event start with the friendly ladies Liz and (another) Jen from Swinley Bike Hub. The event lasts 10-12 noon and I have estimated the ride/relax time below.

Swinley Bike Hub are doing a great job of encouraging more women into mountain biking, so Jennifer P has been liaising with them to arrange a joint Champions Meet up at their 'Girls who Ride/ Bubbles at the Hub' event on 11th February. It's for all abilities. If you don't have a bike, Swinley Bike Hub have a hire scheme you could use, or get in touch and we will see if we can help.

One of the areas we are looking to expand into is getting more women into mountain biking through Breeze in 2018 and there some pilot rides at the moment with existing Champions who are also MTB leaders. Then more training will be on offer to allow Breeze Champions to organise more MTB-specific rides.

Interested? Comer along to find out more or contact [email protected] if in any doubt!

Here is the text below and a link to the event itself on the Swinley Bike Hub Facebook page:

"Welcome to the Girls Who Ride Series at Swinley Bike Hub we will be putting on a series of Girl ride outs through out 2018. Join us again for a trail takeover and post ride there will be some refreshments.

In 2017 we saw lots of female shredders join us and we would love in 2018 to grow the community. The aim of the ride will be to get more women out riding with more confidence and progressing through to challenging each other to take on more technical terrain.

Whether you are a complete newbie or a more experienced rider sign up and join us for a day on the trails finishing back at The Hub for a glass of fizz and maybe a cake or two with a cuppa tea!

The sessions will be tailored to suit all abilities but the emphasis will be more on enjoyment of the trails with guiding of the trails rather than a Strava smash around the circuit!

We will be using the Swinley terrain and all that it has to offer to gain confidence and sklls for all levels of rider.
