In 1938 Billie Fleming rode 29,603 miles round the UK & set the women's record for distance cycled in a single year. Inspired by this remarkable woman, Breeze Champion Anne Hunt has set up the Tribute to Billie and during the course of 2015 women will aim to replicate her route. Billie would have been 101 years old on 13th April. From 11th-13th April, ladies will cycle nationwide and eat cake (yum) to celebrate her birthday :-) Further details on http://www.tributetobillie.co.uk Leaving Dinton Pastures we will cycle out through Hurst, Shurlock Row, White Waltham and Littlewick Green until we finally arrive at Stubbings Nursery near Pinkneys Green for refreshment, especially cake! Then we will loop back to White Waltham and from there, re-trace our route The terrain is mainly flat through country lanes and roads with lots of beautiful scenery on the way. We will try to keep an average pace of around 12mph. It's a good idea to bring with you some water, some money for the café stop, a spare inner tube for your bike if you can, and a waterproof. Hopefully by bringing the latter two things, you'll need neither!
