- We will cycle on quiet roads to Little Britain Lake, then on tracks and cycle paths to Langley Park, where we will have coffee/lunch (you can bring your own if you wish). We will return to Hillingdon mostly on route 61.
- We will be sitting outside in view of the bikes, but it would be nice to take a short walk around the lovely rhododendron park (free entry) so if you’re going to join us for this then bring a lock for your bike.
- It is a fairly flat route and we will ride at the pace of the slowest rider and always wait so that no one is left behind. As a lot of the route is on tracks it’s not really suitable for road bikes with skinny tyres. A hybrid would be ideal.
- Please bring the usual (pump, inner tubes, etc). I would prefer you to wear a helmet for your safety.
- You can take your bike anywhere on the Metropolitan Line any time off peak (peak hours are Mon-Fri 7:30-9:30 and 16:00-19:00) see
https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/cycling/cycles-on-public-transport- If you are driving to the start there is free parking on many residential roads off Long Lane e.g. Richmond Avenue UB10 9BH (Easier to park at the east end of the road near the Windsor Avenue end, then come along the cycle path beside the A40 to the tube station).
- If you have any questions don’t hesitate to send me a message via the “message ride creator” button, with your phone number, and I will reply via whatsapp (you need to be logged in to the let’s ride website to see the button).
