The ride takes us to The Dream via Rainhill. The web site for The Dream is http://www.dreamsthelens.com if you want to learn about it but here is a summary. "Dream takes the form of a 20 metre high girl's head with her eyes closed, seemingly in a dream-like state, resting on a plinth bearing the inscription "Dream Sutton Manor" inspired by the small, circular "tally" each miner carried as a means of identification. The notion is simple but profound, in our dreams, anything is possible...".
Be warned, there are two climbs, the first on Hall Lane into Rainhill then The Dream its self. After this the ride continues to a short refreshment break at a garden centre at which point you head back to the start finish point at Hunts Cross.

Part of the Breeze Through Winter ride series, this is a route that will take us on roads and some trails into St Helens to see the iconic Dream statue, which is a monument to the memory of the former colliery in Sutton Manor.

The route is on trails and roads, some of which can be busy with traffic, so it is important that riders are comfortable with riding amongst other traffic.

We will make a stop at the Dream monument for photos and to take in the views, and a further stop for refreshments about halfway through the ride.

Road or hybrid bikes are best for this ride. February can be cold so layer up with warm and waterproof clothing. Helmets are strongly recommended.

This ride is challenging and is not suitable for beginners. However, please look at our other rides as some are shorter and easier than this one.
