This is a challenging ride and suitable to more experienced riders with a moderate to good level of fitness. This ride is made up of 2 parts. The first part is to Polegate (20 miles) and the second part will complete the loop of 45 miles. If you are aiming to complete the loop, please expect the ride to take up most of your day.
The route starts at the Level in Brighton. We will head off at 9am from the cafe at the centre of the park next to the Skate Board park. I will be there to meet and greet you all.
We will then set off along the A27 cycle path to Lewes, pop through the town to get back onto the A27 cycle path to Firle. From here we will be on the new cycle path all the way to Polegate.
Once we get to Polegate, we will head to the train station to wave off any riders who at this point need to get back to Brighton. We will also have our first coffee/cake stop.
From Polegate we will head to Jevington, then Friston on a quiet B road. Once we get to Friston we will head down Exeat hill towards Seaford. We will take another coffeee/cake stop on Seaford sea front. Then from Seaford we will be back on the cycle path to Newhaven through to Saltdean. We will take the undercliff from Salt Dean back to Brighton. The ride is approx 20 miles to Polegate and 45 miles to complete the loop.

This is a challenging ride - firstly to Polegate (20 miles) then on to complete the loop (45miles). Riders will have the opportunity to either catch a train home when we reach our first destination in Polegate, or continue with the ride back to Brighton along the coast via Jevington and Exeat.

We will ride on a mixture of road surfaces including cycle paths, quiet back roads and some sections of 'B' roads. There are no traffic free areas.

We will stop at several points along the way for drinks and snacks. We will also stop at Polegate for coffee and cake and to say goodbye to those riders who will want to take the train home. We will then stop for more coffee and cake at Seaford.

Please ensure you have pre checked your bike and that it is road worthy before we leave as we will be a long way outside of Brighton. Also ensure you bring along a spare inner tube (or 2) and some basic tools in-case of a puncture. Dress appropriately for the weather including plenty of sun screen in-case the weather decides to get really hot! (That would be very nice for us!) Ensure your drinks bottles are full and that you have a supply of snacks for our shorter stops and breaks.
