Breeze to the Pantry

Starting point

Meet at Frenchwood Recreation Ground Preston, situated next to Christ the King High School PR1 4LX .
There is parking here and Toilet facilities are available on route at Avenham pavillion.

This is an intermediate ride aimed at women who want to try out cycling on the road. The route is mainly on the Guild wheel cycle path but we add on a short 3 mile road loop which conveniently takes us to a café stop.
We meet at frenchwood recreation ground where we join the guild wheel and ride in a clockwise direction as far as Miller Green. We leave the cycle path here and turn onto Hoyles lane then Sandy lane where we stop for a short coffee break.
We then continue along Sandy lane and turn into Bartle lane then onto sidgreaves lane and finally lea road where we join the cycle path on Cottam way. This lead us back to the guild wheel path where we retrace our steps back to Frenchwood Recreation ground. This is a ride that will give a gentle introduction to road riding.
We will aim for an average speed of 8-10 miles an hour
Please bring some water and be prepared for warm/wet weather conditions.
Riders are advised to wear a helmet and it is compulsory for those under 18 to wear a helmet.
Please carry a spare inner tube and tools necessary to carry out a puncture repair
