Starting point

Hertfordshire
AL5 1PU

Starting in Harpenden, please try and get there about 10 mins early so we can do the bike check and introduce ourselves. We will travel to Redbourn through the lanes then we will have to make a detour to the normal route as one of the roads is shut due to water works. This means we will detour through Flamstead to be able to join the original route then on to Studham, Markyate and finally to Harpers. After the refreshment stop we will return to Harpenden.

Slightly longer green route of around 27 miles. Starting at Harpenden cycles there is parking around the surrounding area near the common. We will travel via Redbourn, Flamstead, Studham on to Harpers cafe at Pepperstock.

Mostly country lanes but we will travel on some main roads for a short period of time.

We will be stopping frequently to check everyone is ok and have drinks. We aim to get to Harpers for the refreshment stop within a couple of hours.

Please bring helmets, these are compulsory on my rides. Also in case of a puncture bring a spare inner tube and the means to fix it. Drinks to sip along the way are essential and if the weather is good perhaps sun cream. You will need money for the refreshment stop. If you have any symptoms of Covid then please do not come on the ride but let me know in advance. I will send my number out a day before the ride.

This is a slightly longer than normal green ride, a few undulations so if you want to try a longer ride then please sign on but we will be out for about 3 1/2 hours We will be travelling between 8-10mph and if you have to walk up a hill then that's fine, we won't leave you behind.
