Welcome to Breeze Wigan Winter rides and our first ride of 2020. We are an extremely friendly group and our regular riders are of mixed abilities, so everyone regardless of experience and ability is very welcome to join us.

We especially welcome ladies who are taking their first pedals on their bike and want to gain confidence in a friendly supportive group. We dont ride a set speed we would rather ride to a pace where we can have a chat and get to know each other!
We also welcome riders on E-bikes.

We start at Hockery brook and pick up National Cycle route 55, where we cross over the canal, and ride into the lower plantations Haigh Hall, we then have a half way stop at the Allotment Cafe. We return via the canal path and pick up the route into Amberswood which takes us back to the carpark. The route has a couple of hills but nothing you cant handle and we aren't too posh to push when it gets tough !

It is advisable that riders bring along a spare inner tube, just in case of a puncture; Make sure you bring along some cash if you want to buy a coffee or a cake !

First-timers welcome!

Kick start your new year with a Breeze ride There is a free carpark which is located opposite La Cava Hindley

The route is traffic free and we ride on gravel paths and imprinted concrete, the ride is suitable for beginners and intermediates, and we also welcome children who are reasonably confident on their bike.

We are planning on stopping halfway at the well known Allotment Cafe, on Wigan Lane, so please bring some money for a warm drink and may be a slice of cake. We ride to slowest and we are not to posh to push!, there are not many hills on this ride just a small one before the cafe stop , but dont let that put you off!

All children must wear a helmet, and we advise all riders to wear a helmet for safety. If you can bring a spare inner tube just in case , if you dont have one , fear not we will always look to help out, and will never leave anyone behind.

First-timers welcome!
